mini cell removal

Recently bought a royalite boat with minicell kneepads in the wrong location.

What is the best way to remove them with minimum damage to the hull?

Thanks ahead of time.

1st try just pealing them up. If that doesn't work try a piece of cross-connect wire (24 gauge, get a few feet from a phone company guy). I wrap the ends around tent stakes & use it like a saw. The wire doesn't work well in curved areas, so light use of a random orbital sander will finish the job.

I bio-engineered some bacteria that eat minicell and excrete vinyl. I can send you a vial for a small donation....

if none of the above work

just convince those knee pads that they are my hair and they will fall right out :o

Perhaps a touch of the bioengineered powder will restore your hair. Do you like red or green? :D

Seriously, If they won't peel up by brute hand strength, take a hacksaw blade (just the blade) and slip it under the pad and saw as close to the boat as possible.
Now, you should be left with some mini-cell and glue residue on the boat.
Goof-Off, allowed to soak for a minute, and a plastic scraper or scuff-pad will remove the rest.
Hope this helps.

Goof off. Good idea. I was going to try Nair.

Thanks.

However, the dangers of releasing a Genetically Modified Vinyl (GMV) into the environment are completely unknown. Suppose this vinyl should mutate once in the wild?!? Who knows what might happen. Paddles could become horrible deformed as they grow an extra blade. What happens if your pedestal becomes infected? Might it dissolve into a puddle of vinyl forcing you to sit on the bottom of your boat using this mutant paddle? :o
The horror... the horror....

Just leave the minicell where it is and call it extra flotation.
