I'm looking for an online source for 2" velcro thigh straps. I recently saw a set labeled Vajda in a Vajda Lizard that looked nice but can find no source to purchase from. I also see Northwater makes a set but have never seen them, anyone with knowledge of these please chime in.
These will be going in my recently purchased used Galasport Snout.
My C-Forum search netted 765 hits, that's why the question, I'm sure it has been discussed many times before.
Thanks
Steve

I made mine by sewing 1.5'' velcro onto 2'' webbing.

Steve,
i make a 2" velcro thigh strap system that should work real well for you.
do you already have an anchor setup?
i can custom any setup ( any length or set up) for you.
im having trouble posting pics right now but will tomorrow.
if you have any question, feel free to ask
thanks,
john

Good man
If you can't buy it, make it.

If you don't have a sewing machine and/or skillz, try a shoe repair shop. I have had a local shop fab up some of my creations for a reasonable price. My father-in-law is also handy with a sewing machine (made his own packs and sleeping bags back in the day) and he's stitched up some items, too.

Remember that 2" Velcro straps will weigh significantly more, especially when wet. I make 1.5" straps with no foldover, attached with polyester rope through grommets. The strap adjustment is done with the lower rope ends. The strap ends are strengthened and stabilized with SeamGrip before putting in the grommets.
Adjustable Velcro is great, but there is a weight penalty.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I have a few options on purchasing. I also see Beluga (under Paddling Links) has a couple different sets.

if you are intent on the vajda straps, don't be. they don't work well, the Northwater ones are much better, I think you can still get them through NRSweb.com. for a while, we were making some in the CLT area that were twice folded over, and i never had one blow. but also had difficulty getting them tight enough.
in most cases, i would prefer to have wider straps so that i could use less weight in my boat, and get them wet before a check-in @ a race.
enjoy the snout. interesting boat.
cheers
