Everything is looking good for the Armada.
Kanuschule Versam have lent me their big tent for us to hang out in, cook and drink tea in.
Sabrina has hopefully picked up some Kober demo paddles.
And I have a roof rack full of Esquif canoes just waiting to be paddled.
There is good water http://kajak.at/Fluesse/showall.php?peg ... 1&fluss=49
and the weather forecast is looking good http://www.wetter.at/wetter/oesterreich/salzburg/lofer/
See you there

I've spoken to that friend from Kober who wanted to send them to Augsburg - just didn't get a message fron him yet, but I'll call them again later this day, I will them then bring to the Armada!!

whooow, wondering where the time is gone - It's just been still four weeks, now suddenly gone - bad for the work I have to do, but good for my camera waiting to take the best shots of my whole career and especially for my sweet little canoe that is residing unpatiently here, ready to f* rock these rivers!!! Whahooooooooo! :o

Eqsuif Test Boats

Post by mahyongg »

Hej James,

you mentioned to fit those boats on a roof rack and I can't quite imagine that many on one car although I've seen a lot of boats on small cars at times (5 OC1 or something..)...so I would just like to say that if you have to leave something at home, make sure its not the zephyr or the spark.. cause I would really love to test both of them.

C u soon!

Hi kneelers,

I've discovered the Armada right now but it is too late for now. But I will try to keep in mind and bring a bunch of Czech cboaters (converters as me) next year!

I really would like to test some (Esquif) open canoes as I am sad of constant converting some dam kayaks and there is no one in the Czech Rep. having such nice boat (so far I know).

If there is some "notification list" for Europan cboat armada, please, add me: jakub.bican--AT--gmail.com

Thanks, Jakub

Here is a bunch of pictures of this years Armada. Sorry for the low quality - my camera is small and water resistant...

@ James and Sabrina: Thank you for organizing this event! I had a lot of fun.

I'll post some of my best pictures on art des eaux within the next days.....

and thanks to James for the test boats and the delicious meal (the best spaghetti I've ever had in my life)

What a weekend! Great fun with all of you, many more stories to tell.

A crowd of 50+ cboaters from all over the place, the community is growing. Who says, we are a small insignificant group of individuals who can't handle double bladed paddles and like to kneel in ice cold water?

I attended every Euro Armada so far and thought, that by now I should know all (most...) European cboaters, but far from that! Thanks everyone for coming! It was good to hook up with old friends and meet new ones too.

I sent a contact list to all of those who "signed" my paper. The ordered kayak, the washing machine and three kilograms of butter is delivered the following weeks

Who hasn't received that contact list, please pm me with your email-adress and I will forward one to you.

Thanks to everyone who made the Armada happen (especially insolence and funkydreadz), CU next year (the latest...)

Take care...

PS. Photos up soon...
"A canoe trip?" he said. "There ain't nothing to go down there for."
"Because it's there," Lewis said.

For those who can read German...
