I had the Armada written in my agenda even before the date was fixed!

So I'll be coming. I'm just back from a splendid week in southern france where we had our mini armada! I met some people who will join the Armada in Lofer as well. So I guess we'll be minimum 5 now ;-).

ARMADA SHIRT

here there is the design for the armada shirt! It will be probably black shirts, men's and girlie shirts are available.
To order one, please mail to thepainboater@googlemail.com
Please remind that the shirts can only be printed when more than 15 pieces will be ordered, since the copyshop doesn't do a smaller amount! The shirts can be ordered until next wendesday (13th may 2009) and have to be paid in advance. The price will be around 25 Euro, depending on number that will be ordered. As soon as I have everything cleared with the copyshop, I will mail everyone who ordered with detailed information if we made it to a high enough number, and (if everything works) that he/she will get a shirt, the price, and when and where to pay. I will the bring the shirts to the Armada and hand them out then.

see the design here: http://art-des-eaux.blogspot.com/

hope you like it!

Boatless at the Armada!?

Hej Guys,

My Girl and me would totally love to come to the Armada but we both are currently boatless, do you guys think that makes sense and will there be enough boats to test/try/swap (maybe even buy used?).

We have paddled in BC throughout the last summer (well, dec. 1 was the last trip with some water from fresh-fallen snow up in the coast mountains ;) where we really caught the bug, so it really is time to get on the water again and we just moved down south a bit from cologne to near lake constance to reduce the distance to any paddleable water a tad bit!

So if any of you could give us a feeling about how the situation might look for us if we hit up the armada boatless that would be greatly appreciated!

And if its all hopeless, any hints on where to rent 2 ww oc1 boats (ha ha, I know..) would be great too!
Btw. we both paddled the Esquif Spark and train on our slackline every day, so I hope there should be some core balance left from last year ;D

Happy paddling,

Cordula & Jan

Hi Jan,

just come along, there will be for shure enough boats for you. I will bring my Quake, Remix 59 and Delirious, and like me most paddlers bring more than one boat with them. And maybe your girl wants to buy my completely outfitted and ready to be paddled Remix 59 cause I´m stepping up to a 69.

Cheers Frank

there will also be test paddles from Kober; the Athen, S power, X Dream, usw.
i can also probably organise outsides to rent of people want to go schlauch kanadier paddling
I also have half a plan to cook a big meal for everybody who wants on Saturday night, i will bring a big tent, big gas burners and some big pots, either kase spatzeli or rissotto let me know what you want
there is loads of water in the river so we should be in for a good time
paddle safe

Hi Guys,
Unfortunatley due to an operation to repair a torn ligament in my left hand I am still unable to undertake any serious paddling and am having to give the Armada a miss this year.
I saw the consultant yesterday and was told not to even think about a paddle for at least another 6 weeks...
However as soon as i am up to it i do plan to come over and catch some rivers, i will post in case anyone else wants to hook up for that...

A combination trip ending maybe in a few days on the Soca could be fun...Chris

I'm also sorry you can't come! We'll have a good time anyhow ;-).

Same here, from 11-12 to 16 august I could go for a paddle :). I was planning to do so anyhow, but I didn't make up with who, or where... .
Soca is on my wish list, it's just that's such a long driver for me :-?

Boats & food

Hej Guys,

thanks for all the offers, we will totally try out anything we can get our hands on to get a feel for some more boats & paddles. We also got the chance of renting some boats from Heinz Goetze so at least we are certain now that we have something that floats ;D before heading up to Lofer!

James, if you need some help with the cooking, I love cooking for medium sized groups and could offer my help for that. With the Beavers in BC, we always had a "happy hour" style table where everybody brought something to share. We could do that as well, if everybody agrees.. nice experience sharing and everybody ends up overstuffed for sure for the usual mistake of everyone bringing waaaay more food than one alone can handle ;D

Looking forward to see you all up there!

Yeeha, less than a week to go!

I'm looking forward to meeting you all (again). Many thanks to the organisation committee, especially Sabrina and James, for all the work, time and thoughts involved.

CU there, let's rock Lofer!

PS. I will probably arrive very late Thursday night or more likely early Friday morning, since I have to "work paddle" on Thursday. Anyway, have a good start.

I am coming to the armada and am looking for a Fink to buy, does anyone have one for sale and can bring it? See you there, Angus.

There is a guy in Germany selling his finky:

Maybe you can get someone pick it up for you if he is not coming to the armada.
