I own and run a canoe school in Canada's Yukon. We celebrate our 10 year anniversary this summer and I would like to do something different and special for my customers. so am looking for a high level, high profile instrutor to come on up to teach some clinics, courses. We are in the land of the midnight sun so paddle days can be long or you can start late, stay up late and still be good to go
I have enquired with some the high profilers I can think of and they are either not available or have not even responded. send me an email or post suggestions
Thanks Trevor

Wow! Didn't even have to send a picture of me in my shorty. - My reputation precedes me. - You and Trevor can start the bidding war.
Well, after two years of incredible skiing and mountain biking in Nelly town (and some pretty wild creeking), It's time to get home to the Yukon.
I'll catch highwater here, then be home in time to bust ice on the Tutshi.
Tutshi Tuesday, Wheaton Wednesday, Intake club night Thursday, head to the Tat on Friday night - can't wait.

For a class in self rescue, swimming I would be perfect and I can serve as a good example of what not to do. All of the middle age girls ( 25 to 35 ) say I am hot. However with six layers of Polly Pro and two drysuits on I look a little over weight.
Once when I was in between wifes one of Chad coaches said I should go to a race in DC that there were a lof of girls in my acceptable age group there. I said just a dam minute what is my age group? He said 18 to 40. He only mised it by a couple of years on both ends

It will be good to have you back Msky, we may have a large steaming pile of dog doo load of water this year as we still have a large steaming pile of dog doo load of snow. I just moved to Mary Lake so will be able to boat for fun for a change instead of just boating for work and I got a HUGE workshop to outfit boats in.
Ya I know some think your "HOT" but not what I was thinking for what I had in mind. But the few big names I had hoped to get here too busy or are too scared to even reply. I wont to get my Taurea on the Tutshi. What you got for C-1's these days? Which Jane do you want me to say hi to I have a new one. As much as it was a sin I bought Pelly a Jackson Fun 11/2, instead of a Splash.
Hey Louie Yukon paddling is a lot like Mexico paddling well the roads to the put ins anyways. I would love to meet ya in Mexico for a paddle but I cant afford to bring all my customers with me- cheaper to bring the instructor to the class. Here you can boat twice in day if you want. You can drink the water, the mosquitos dont kill ya and the the cold water gives ya shrinky dink so one can focus on boating instead of being distrated by those female creatures.

I'm coming up there to save the poor kid. What the hades were you thinking? Can't you see how kayakers turn out? We'll get him in my Wheelboy.
Well maybe there's still hope for Nora, I'll never forget her helping me pack for the Overland, at Lapie camp..
I was unaware of your change in social situation and location. I hope all is well for you, the kids, and dogs.
Mostly back to canoeing. I usually paddle my solo trad or the CUfly, but use a converted Y on the crazy creeks. There's no middle groud here - it's either flat or steep and full of wood. I have a Prelude, but rarely paddle it. Will be great for the Tutshi.
I'll find your # and give a call before I head up. Are you planning a spring run south? Need anything brought from Hellman? I've got a great story about paddling with him, but since this forum won't even let me say hades, it will have to wait.

There is a guy in Prince George who teaches OC1 playboating, by the name of Lyle Dickieson. Don't know him personally but heard he is excellent. I'm thinking of taking one of his courses in June/July.
I got one of Hellman's Otters about 2 months ago and have been having lots of fun with it but could use a bit of instruction on how to paddle OC1.

A little Google work tells us that 10 years ago Lyle was paddling with, or better than, some of Canada's more famous "hot" instructors like Mason and Scriver...

Could be worth an inquiry.
Apparently he's pretty good speedskater too!

Lyle is a good instructor and I have meet him and have paddled with his brother. Have sent him a note and waiting reply. We do a pretty good job with the instruction are self, just wanted to add a different, fresh perspective in the north. We can get a bit isolated up here. Waiting to see what new tricks Msky brings back with him.
We have an awesome 4 day whitewater course- the Lapie River Extravaganza which is an experience more than a course.
