Backfoot River Challenge

Post by cbcboat »

Here are the dates for the Blackfoot River Challenge to be held just outside Missoula, MT-- June 20-21. Events will include a 9-10 mile classic downriver, great for DR race boats, a slalom, to be held at Roundup rapid (for those who attended OC Slalom Nats in 04 its the same rapid--with more water this time :D , and a sprint/boatercross or wildwater race (TBD). Camping is nearby! For what its worth there is a ton of other paddling to be had that time of year so if anyone needs a vacation and wants to come to MT its a nice time of year. heres a link to a blog about the race, its in the very early stage of development.

I should also note that this event will be a benefit/food drive for the Missoula Food Bank!

Just wanted to throw out another update, we will have slalom and river running clinics friday the 19th with the races being the 20 and 21. Most of you live on the East Coast but for those of you that are closer to MT you sould consider coming out, it should be great fun and is for a good cause. As mentioned before that time of year EVERYTHING is running around here.
Thanks

It would be great to see people from far and wide but the upper mid-west crowd should really come out for this. You may need all the gate time you can get this year because Team Montana is bringing the cow bell to Wausau! For the love of god, more cow bell!!!
