Skirt for Fink

I just bought PAC's Fink over the weekend and I need to get a skirt for it. Who makes a skirt that fits the Fink, or is just a custom job from Mountain Surf or SkirtworkS?

Who's had any experience with this?

Thanks.

I think there is a story here somewhere. All Sunday I heard from PAC how wonderful the Fink is and how his doesn't have hip pads which makes it even more wonderful. Then PAC swims 10 or 12 times out of Al's Fink which does have hip pads. Now PAC has sold his Fink and Al is selling his CU-Fly (which doesn't surprise me much!). Who is on first?

Sorry, no clue about the skirt.

I can't believe PAC really sold that boat :o !! I though he was kidding when he said that...didn't he just get a kkirt for it himself???

Anyway, when I got my Finkenmeister I initially used an old Harmony skirt that was made for a Dagger Atom/Cascade cockpit. It fit, not perfectly, but it worked. When I sold my old Atom, I ordered a custom Dur-O-Deck from Mountain Surf. The rubber rand works really well, even now, after 5-6 seasons of use, it's still bone dry.

TGG!

Any slalom C1 deck will fit it reasonably well.

Not really. A standard slalom cockpit is significantly smaller than the one on the FM. PAC used a slalom skirt, if I am not completely mistaken and it took 2 people to put it on and it had a bad habit of trying to come off at inopportune times.
If you intend on running some serious stuff in a FM, get a properly fitting skirt. It's no fun if the thing comes off in a hard rapid.
A skirt made for the new larger slalom cockpits as found on newer designs like Galasport may fit.

It was these that I was refering to; The smaller slalom c1 cockpit was out of favour on serious boats over here a number of years before I even started paddling.

I remember a number of paddlers who used Robson's own fink skirt for their slalom boats till sandiline came along.

It's not worth the hassle. Just send the boat South. If you really must have a skirt, here's the ONLY way to get it: http://www.wwslalom.net/skirt/index.htm

I just finished a new skirt, taking a few pictures as I went (and changing my technique a bit too). So, I'll be updating that page when I have some spare time.

Not Elvis - I have a skirt that "sort of" fits the Fink (hard to get on
http://jeffmacklin.smugmug.com/photos/5 ... iKtr-M.jpg
and only pops at the worst times :o )! If you want it you can have it...... but.... you HAVE to take the Demonic hip grabbers if you take the skirt!

By the way it was only 4 swims and all on class II-ish stuff!

You folks are making fun of me :x because I was in a kayak on Sat. Even thought it was a squirt boat (And YES Huge I saw you almost kill yourself running to get that camera of yours when you saw me in it)!

I did have my biggest belly laugh in a long time after the aborted paddle twirl transition into swim move...

I like SnapDragon for quality, price and speed of service. I would be surprised if they don't have a pattern for the Fink.
