Normally I avoid Phil's like it was the plague. I dropped into rightside sideways. It was pretty bumpy and munchy to say the least. I as more scared surfing in there then my two runs going thru Buseater last summer.

nice Colin!

it takes a man sized pair to drop into Phil's intentionally... maybe next time i'm up there i'll think about it... but more than likely i'll just wave at it like normal as i go skirting past it on the outside.

Nice - who says big boats can pull off moves! I like the paddling top too but I did notice you were not smiling in all the frames! Whats up with that?

Is your camera back from the shop yet?

FYI ... I made that hawaiin shirt many years ago ... and yes it was over top of my PFD which was on super tight. :o

My ribs hurt the next morning

I was fricking scared on that ride :D so no smiling as i was trying to concentrate ... and no ... not back yet

My boat also won the best un-occupied ride as well after my ride was over

Andrew told me to drop in the left side of Phils, I tore my pectoral muscel and it never has healed to this day. I really don't know why he told me to do that it wasn't my faul he ended up in the cave below Chief.

Way to go for it. I could swear you were trying to cartwheel on purpose:P So good I had to watch the vid a few times, nice work. That is a BA wave!

Colin, That's like a bull ride - I think you might just have got your 8 seconds!

Was it fun? Not sure I'd do that on purpose. Makes running some of the falls seem not not-so-scary.

Colin,

Those are great pics but they almost don't do that hole justice. It's huge! Way to go for sucking it up and showing the kayaks whats up. Big boats look sweet in huge holes.

Phil's was in a funky mood last weekend. Could have been the level, don't know.
While I didn't participate in the rodeo (Angels kiss was too much fun to hurry down the river on Saturday), I tried to surf Phils on Sunday. I tried to drop in sideways, only to have it green out as I was dropping in and flushing me right through :o !
After four carries up and as many immediate flushes, I gave up  !
Phil's is a lot of fun in a squirtboat. Hit it straight on, and you feel like a basketball during a slam dunk... !

The biggest beatings in Phils seem to happen when one tries to avoid it.

TGG!

Nice work Colin. Loved the cartwheel attempt.
One question - do your pumps come on automatically when you're ejected from the boat?!?

Actually ... the battery was not installed at the time ... the only thing I had in there was my spare paddle.

Yeah ... but anyone can do that in a closed boat.

Takes real skills to run that crap in a Open Boat.

And ... seee ... the dog is smart to be in a Open Boat
