I'm shopping around for boats, and have a line on an Ocoee or Prodigy ... Right now I'm paddling a Zephyr, but I'm looking for something for the rocker runs.
Does anyone know what the weight range is for a paddler in a:
1) Ocoee
2) Prodigy

I'm around 200 #

Would the Prodigy be suitable as a creeking boat I know is't kind of long?

The other boats on my list are a Taureau, or a Fly..

I have a Prodigy and Taureau. The Prodigy is wet for 200#. I'd say it is best for <180. The Ocoee is a good boat for your weight range.

If you are choosing a creeker, then I'd suggest the Taureau. Great boat in that environment. Dryer than the Fly, and easier to roll. The Fly will outlast the Taureau, but I've been abusing my first generation Taureau and it is lasting well.

My advise is to keep the Zephyr and get a spanish fly for your creeker! You'll be glad you did...

I currently have an outrage and a spanish fly and I love the combo. I paddle the outrage on the big fluffy stuff and the fly when things are low, boney and steeper.

I had a Zephyr and I kindof wish I still had it.

You should try a viper 11,

My #1 pick as OC1 creeker is the Prelude, hands down.
But then again I haven't paddled the L'Edge yet.
U might change my mined fter that...

I'm interested to see the Viper 11 recommended for a 200lbs paddler. Does Mohawk spec paddler weights for it's boats?

I'm sure some big guys do paddle Viper 11s, but at 215lbs, I personally have found it's a pretty low/wet ride.

I am about 200 pounds in ,y lean time and about 220 in my heayey times I Use the 11 all the time it is my primary boat I have heard very few 200 pound folks complain the one that I have prob, should have tried a tamer boat, I have the pictures to show what the boat will do with a 200 pounder

I am 210 plus my gear and drysuit probably up to 230 and I love my Viper 11 I have a Taureau and still getting used to it, had some great hole rides in it lately. On a recent run of the Tat with 4 other solos I was wondering if I was a bit wetter than the others

I'm about 215# and a Fly is just fine and an Ocoee definitely handles even more weight. Both are awesome boats. I had a Viper 12 for years but never spent any time in an 11 so I can't compare. I really liked the 12 but wonder what I would think of it now...
