Explain this one to me Batman. When I first looked at the photos I noticed the Rivets going through the hull most likely not much above waterline, wondered what the hades those were for. Then looking at the interior photos there is all kinds of string and stuff that is attached to the Rivit/eyelets/bolts/whatever. Then got to looking at the cool Carbon Fiber Skid Plates and guess what another rivit and check out the Carbon Fiber. I am sooooo confused with this one.

just wondering if the boat could have been outfitted with a spray skirt for paddling big rivers like the Nahanni

Are those bike tires? White walls and all?

looks like he has foamed out the inside of the tumblehome, like in a superfly. If you look closely at his skid plates, they are a bicycle tire. interesting indeed.

Whoever outfitted that boat had great knot tying skills. Rivets at the water line? Rubber tire skid plates? Those are interesting design decisions for sure. The rest seems pretty well thought out. Looks like there's a bungee on the bow deck for a spare paddle, a well installed pump system, HUGE deck plates.

I can't imagine hitting a rock with the rubber skid plates; t'were it not for the straps, I could see the paddler being darned near ejected as the boat comes to a sudden stop.

As for the puncture/dent, I'd throw some JB Weld into it and forget it if there's no rotting (softness).

The bike tire skid plates are an old Cherokee Indian trick that serves two purposes: 1) you can droag your boat without abrading the vinyl as evidenced by the rest of the hull being in pretty good shape and 2) the tire makes a track in the sand that looks like a snake track thus aiding in eluding persuers. The intricate bag lacing system doubles as a fish trap for those multiday extended outings. All makes me wonder what the solvent was in the adnesive?

it was not a dig. If you look at the boat the guy stenciled R.I. at the end. I think he is from Rhode Island. I used to live on Long Island. I had buddys from there loved playing poker, and water skiing in the sound with my friends from your state.

Was I looking at a Genesis? I sent so many emails I lost track. I was on a mission. In the end, I found a Rival close-ish to me (rnbeals from the board). I'm just waiting for a box of Mikey parts to show up on my porch at this point.

Looks to me that the rivets on the side are for the lacing on the sidewall foam and the front of the airbag. So my question is why have lacing on the sidewall foam. And what is the white adhesive holding the tire tread. Spackle?
