Hi I've just become the proud owner of the Red Wheelboy hull. The fittings are long since gone*, so I'm in the process of carving minicell, and have a few questions.
(I fully realise the answers are "try it and see",however if I can get close first time it will be a lot easier.)
I'm using a 65mm square drainpipe as the basis, and will post up some photos as I go ... So the questions are ...
1/ What height is the seat in the standard wheelboy? (currently going for about 6 inches)
2/ How far forward from the back of the cockpit should the backpad be? (currently going for 2 inches)
And while I'm here I may as well ask, what standard spraydecks fit this, as it does look a bit of a square cockpit ...
Can any fellow Wheelboy owners help?
* = PS - I'm not sure of the history of this boat but would love to hear from any previous owners ...
1/ Original owner of this red Wheelboy obviously removed the saddle before selling.
2/ Next owners had some sort of central former between the buoyancy blocks and hacked some odd shapes from the bottom of the foam.
3/ The chap I bought it off worked in a Canoe shop in Reading ... he got it from ebay and didn't use it much or fit it out.
Photos of the boat as sold to me:

I too ripped the Drakkar outfitting out and replaced it. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of my "project" on hand. I'll have to look at the house.
What I did was fully mini cell it out - adding a center pilar, a seat in the 8.5 inch range (old knees - this makes it tipper but I also get more leverage), a butt block that has to be close to 3 inch thick & slopes up 3 inches (from the back of the cockpit) and thigh blocks that come back far up my legs.
The butt block was then contored to trim the boat out! I also have straps in it so when I'm in it - I wear it. I paddled Sir Adam's last june and was fine in his set up too (although there isn't as much there - think its a fence post rail outfitting).
By the way mine is Red too
- I didn't like the puke Green and the Yellow was not available. The boat is tough as they come (it hopped off the vehicle going 65mph in WV and lived with minor scratches).
I'll try to fine photos and post. Others on the site sent / posted their outfittings and I used a mix of their set ups based on the materials I had at hand along with my likes.
On the spray skirt - I special ordered one from SkirtWorks. They had the template (Gonzo's I think was their first) and its pretty bomber. Its not standard and every other skirt I tried leaked. The special order was the ticket for me.
Not sure what else you've paddled but you'r going to love the WB once you get dialed into it! It does tend to get pushed about a bit in really big water but I know Squeaky has taken his down the Upper Gauley and I have run some larger drops and steepish creeks in mind without issue.... Seth was able to flatwater loop it and its a hoot on LF runs where hitting a rock or to is part of the play...so enjoy!
