My first boat was an Old Town Discovery 158 which was chosen due to its reputation for indestuctibility. Too bad it handled like a pig and lead to my first kayak, a Corsica Matix. Following that were: Mad River Royalex Explorer (nice boat, still have it)
Dagger RPM-still have it
Perception AMP- a painful experience
Wave Sport Y- didn't work for me
Perception Phat- great boat still my favorite
Mohawk Probe 14- good tandem, still have it
Dagger Caption- I liked the Mohawk better
Liquid Logic Remix- Not as good a fit as I hoped

Dooley, I'm just curious why you disliked the ovation so much? I've got one that I don't paddle much but I keep it cause it was one of the last ones made.

Bell Prodigy--too wet, sold in 3 months time
Detonator--wore it out!
Taureau--Wendy's ---too much of a corky boat for me
Phantom---hurt my knee it it, had a hard time running drops in it
Detonator--again, put wood gunnels on it thinking it would make it lighter and move faster...wrong!
Paradigm---liked the line, but slow & not snappy enough
Millbrook Rumba---instant love, instant break the stern, learned to repair, still love that boat, just a smidge too long. probably never sell it
Bell Ocoee---love the boat! should have tried it much sooner, heavy to carry, light to paddle, fast, snappy, stable, did I say fast?
Homes--again love the boat! wish I could paddle it everywhere! As Kanur says, made of pure unobtainium. Havent' broken it yet! :D

Jeez ncdavid, that is a list. I should have added to this thread when it first came out, so better late than never.

Old Town Discovery 169 (1998, my first canoe and I still have it.).
Probe 14 triple saddle (2002, sold it after my daughter told me I stunk as a a stern partner. Fortunately she oars the gear raft).
MR Outrage (2004, bought used, still have it, but seldom use it)
Finkenmeister C1 (2006, bought used, still have it, but seldom use it).
Pyranha Spanish Fly (2008, bought used from Oopsiflipped, my go to boat - love at first paddle).

15' royalex canoe w/aluminum gunwales/seats/endplates (someone later said this was a "Warsaw Rocket"; no markings of any kind)
Mohawk XL-13
Dagger Prophet
Dagger Ocoee
Wavesport Fusion
New Wave Cruise Control
Wavesport Godzilla
Wavesport Z
Riot Hammer
Savage Skreem
Dagger Redline
Dagger Caption

Currently I have the Redline, Ocoee, and Caption. The rest were sold. I wouldn't want to revisit any of them except maybe the Godzilla. Good boat.

Let's see . . . This should be a good jog of the memory . . .

Perception Corsica K-1

A couple of old school, late 80s K1 slalom boats (most of which seemed to have duct taped sterns)

Then a succession of C-1s:

Rex Appeal C-1
Upstream Edge Fanatic II
Dagger Cascade
Wavesport Forplay C-1
Pyranha Micro 240 C-1 (rough!)
Riot Groove (plastic)
Necky Blunt C-1
Millbrook Super Dynamic (blue)
Millbrook Super Dynamic (black)
Galasport Shubak (cut-down)
Prijon Release C-1
Pyranha Burn L C-1
Vajda Lizard XL
Phoenix Savage C-1 (Phoenix Sun)
New Wave Acrobat low-cut (on loan)

Whew!

My dream boats right now are:

- Millbrook Ignitor
- Esquif L'Edge (great name)
- Pyranha Burn L K-1
- Any boat I could store in Flagstaff, AZ (like Jim Michaud) with the assurance that I'd be using it on the Canyon every year!
