New canoe rollin technine: The Fainting Goat

Post by Louie »

Alright hozinalfox I have not posted about it because I didn't want to have to try to explaine it. It seems you must have a good handle on the method, care to give us the basic description of it.

Dick and Doopey have tried to explaine it to me and I have even seen Pinchelocogringo roll and been told he used it to get those two rolls. I still don't have a good understanding of the mechinice of it. Help us out here and explaine it as you know it.

Louie, I don't quite understand it myself, Chris "OCKing" tried to explain it to me, maybe he can chime in with an explanation of it, I think it has something to do with stalling out during your roll and falling back in the water. I could be wrong however.
I did however demonstrate how to run Diaper wiper backwards get turned around and stick a 12 foot boat in a eight foot eddy on saturday and then successfully finish the run clean.
For me; boating brings me closer to to something divine, and in a open canoe I'm 8 Inches closer.

There is no rapid on Tellico with the name diaper wipper, where you pulled that move is called Hamburger (AKA meat grinder) Monty Smith renamed it, when he mistakenly though he had a 1st D on Tellico. I think he is mouthfull father, but it hard to tell.

Ya Chris should be able to enlighten us he speaks the same lanague as dick and doopey. Chis want to chime in here?

Fainting goat (for boaters with crappy hip snap)- the act of seizeing all movement once head and most of body have come out of the water during a roll atempt.

The reliability of the technique is still under debate. I haven't tried it. Haven't had to.

Ahhh, So there is a deficiency in ones hip snap combined with the Failure to fully complete the head sweep to ones offside Gunnell ?
Resulting in an incomplete roll, and the pause that occurs as a result resembles a Fainting goat.

No, instead of head sweep & hipsnap, you just do fainting goat.

This info is based on remarks heard on the river and visual observations.

Should not be attempted without a salad bowl helmet.

I was wonderin what part the salad bowl played in this. I have sent a personal message to Dick (AKA Standingman), doopey(AKA magoo) and Pinchelocogringo (AKA saladbowl) and ask them to enlighten us. dick and doopey seems to be the only two to have a full understandin and PLG is the only one I have ever heard of bein credited with pullin it off. PLG and Dick have post but doopey only lerks( trouble with loggin on) we can only hope they will share their knowledge with us.

Is that fainting goat...

...or fallen?

I can see where one might seem a late to action, and the other might be one hades-of-stroke.
