"Best" CBoat outfitter

Someone asked me yet another CBoat question today that I didn't know the answer too - and this one I think is a good question for all:

Who is the most C-friendly outfitter out there? We're talking folks who retail boats and equipment.

NOC?
Millbrook?
?

And we're talking currently, not in the past here - I know a few EXCELLENT businesses that had been around for decades that have gone under the past 2 years.

I also assume we may have different thoughts in different parts of the country (and world) - that's fine.

Thoughts?

Rock creek, NOC, & riversports. These are all great places for you're whitewater needs if you're in the southeast. If not, NRS.

As long as we're clear these folks all have a clue about OC1's at the very least, and hopefully C1's too:)

I bought an EZ C1 from Bernie that was outfitted sweet.

I later robbed the outfitting from the EZ and put it into a Score.
Very nice work.

I'd vote for Millbrook. Kaz knows his c 1's and oc's and as far as i know he stiil isn't a kayaker although he might make you one (a boat that is)

Are you referring to his C-1 bulkheads?

I had a couple contact him to do a conversion a month or so ago.

Does he retail gear, too?

yo...yo... big up ta Tussey Mountain Outfitters, Belefonte, PA...yo
as far east in PA as I care to go, this central PA gem is anchor to a diehard cboat community, sponsors Red MOshannon Downriver race, Dog Days Slalom, et al. Rural surfshop vibe, big knowledge and enthusiasm.

4CRNS was interested in developing an OC-1 expert in-house at one time.

It could have been due Kent Ford’s lingering influence.

At least they offer Mad River online which is more than NRS does.

We used to have a guy Graeame at Yorkshire Canoe over here who did maybe 3/4 of new OC1's in the last couple of years, But the owner closed the business and moved abroad.

Desperate Measures in Nottingham has at least 1 OC1-paddling member of staff;

And

Paddleworks Llangollen is owned and run by a C1 Paddler.

Bernie at WW Warehouse in Dayton is great

Bob Taylor at Appomatox River Co in Farmville, Va. knows how to sell boats, ie, price and service.

ZOAR

Took intro to river canoe with them in college, and ZOAR is one of the few places left where you could walk in off the street and start learning how to open boat.
