Anyone know if the Haute Tension wave comes "in" during Gatineau Fest?

That wave looks like it'd be a sweet place to play and have fun with an open boat... and I've heard Gat-Fest draws a LOT of Canadian Canadiers

Hmmmm....

I say Guillaume La Rue airblunt a (full length) Spanishfly there. I'd love to get there with the Blackfly. It does run in the summer sometimes...

Think you could make a tandem Blackfly by then? :P

Lucifers has supposedly dished out some epic beatdowns over the years...

Haute Tension requires pretty high water and usually is not "in" during the festival at the end of August. High tension was "in" and awesome during the 2009 festival, but that was a stroke of luck and the eddy line was long as hades.

On lower water gat runs the bonny rouge wave at the take-out is in and sweet and right next to the bonny rouge campground for early morning and evening sessions. Bonny rouge is a really nice camplng spot too.

There's always something fun to do on that section... when High-tension wave is not up, other waves on other rapids are awesome.

Yes, for ''pure park-and-play'' High-tension is ''the wave'' , but someone should not miss the festival because high-tension is not up.

You should come in great numbers, one of the few ''large-scale'' festival with more open-boats than kayaks!

As for Lucifer, there's nothing like a good sinus wash!

But these folks in the vids didn't hit the line they wanted, most probably.

Intentionally dropping in there by the side as we see on the picture... Vince you're the man.

Gat Fest rules...not to be missed. Tons of boats on the river, including many open boats. The party on Saturday night is good fun as well. Gat Fest has a great vibe all around.

Lots of crazies in random watercraft there as well...not even sure how to describe some of the stuff people run that river in. Also some folks who probably shouldn't be there...in fact last year I saw a couple of guys wearing bike helmets in a flatwater tandem canoe with no flotation.

As for Lucifers...indeed, the 'wrong line' should be avoided. That second boat ("Exhibit B") had its gunwales ripped off and the centre bag imploded...and a couple of those paddlers converted permanently to 'yakers.
