heck no he didn't post it on BT if they want it back they should look around, despite what the kiddy pool, Decker, and the American Kayaker think BT ain't the only paddlin site out there.
BTW Alex, Cummie said he had first dibs on it if the owner don't care enought to look around the internet.
I checked the kiddy pool and no one said they lost one on Cheoah, beside you know no buttboater would ever admit he swam and lost his paddled so I'd say you got a sissy stick to sell.
Phill we measured it when we got home and we can get one real paddle out of it and enough left over to where if we had a tee grip on a short staff we could make a break down. However for some reason he wants to sell it and make a down payment on a Bailey stick, which considering how often he loses his paddle would be a dumb move.

Oh no we ain't fallin for that trick we want to know the blade shape, lenght of paddle and none of that sissy cm stuff good old American feet and inches (to within a 32nd) color and hue of both blade and shaft, all distinigushin scars and tattoes, bent or streight shaft. Manufactors name, model, country, of origin and the QA inspector name and number and not in Chinessee either.
We will also want a 12 single space report on why you swam, why you let go of your paddle, and why you thought you were good enought to be on the Cheoah at 1400.
Buttboater make the worst swimmers.

Gee now.. I'd hope some nice person would take the extra effort to let me know about one of my paddles if it went missing! Be it via a swim or my forgetfulness.
Besides maybe the boater that lost this particular stick does not visit BT either .. for whatever reason.
Just saying... it might be a nice thing to reach out and do the right thing.
If know gets back to you or has the basic id info for it then its game for river salvage! My $.01

If the owner did take the time to put his/her name on it how much effort should you put into finding them(this could be a poll)?
Now I must go out to the shop and make shure I have my name on everything.

I'm posting it on other sites as well. just haven't got to it.
I'm posting it because I would want whom ever found one of my many lost paddles to do the same. However, should a certain amount of time pass by (between now and ALF) without it being identified and claimed, we can have an auction.

Alex a post did appear in BT about a paddle that is close to what you found, however I think you should private message him and tell him to post it here that a lot of people don't go to the kiddy pool.
