I don't know what happened to that one... it had a few promising features... kind've reminded me of a shorter Twister or Ray's boat.

ahh the twister...so is that the boat i kept seeing in kent ford's 'solo playboating' that i couldn't figure out what it was?
the razor certainly looks interesting, and promising at that. is it a new addition to the 'museum' here on the site?

Funny you should notice - we just heard from the designer (Pierre) that the prototype is still going strong - I'm hoping he might send a long a bit more info on the boat, and if any other than the prototype were produced.

Definitely an interesting design. Particularly if it could be made in PE. I like the rocker and the innovations on the bottom design. Looks like a surf machine to me.

The prototype is still out there, being paddled. I had to move a couple time, job related, and lacked the free time to finish the mold and get it in production. Now I'm working on raising my 11-months old twin boys so still too busy for now to get back to that project but it still in the plans. A 13 ft tandem version is also in the plans.
The boat is fun to paddle, very responsive and carve like a dream. I wanted to design a very agressive boat that was still usable by beginners, somewhat stable like a Ocoee but more edgy. It spin on a dime, faster than much smaller boats and is very dry. The features work just as planed and the boat is very easy to control in a hole and on a wave. The production model, when I get back to it, will be a little narrower as the prototype was build on a male plug. Every paddler who as tried it loved it, so I guess there is good potential out there for it.

I was one of the few paddler lucky enough to try the boat in a pool session a month ago. From the couple minutes paddling it I felt very stable and carved like nothing else, wasn't so hard to roll at all as I was first thinking...
Thanks Pierre for the ride, there is so few people today working on new open boat designs it would be awesome to see this one getting some life in the market.
