Picked up my new spark this weekend. Now I need to get it wet. Test paddled one and this is going to be a fun learning process. I didnt flip but alot more unstable than my 14 ft mohawk. I was wondering what in on the inside of this boat vinyl or bare abs? It is gray on the inside and thought I read that they left the vinyl off to save weight? I could be remembering wrong.

Thanks for all the great info I have learned a lot from this site.

thanks again
chris

Chris,

The Spark interior is ABS. Brian Shields uses StaBond glue to do the Mike Yee outfitting. Contact cement doesn't hold well on the interior of this boat.

I just got a Spark myself. A great boat to carve up technical water in.

Thanks
I thought I read that the wrong glue could mess the boat up so I wanted to be sure.

thanks again

Hi Chris,
Congratulations new Spark. :D

Also I got a Spark several weeks ago.
I am still adjusting my saddle position now.
So I use a frog flotation for test paddling.
I can easy to adjust my hip position on it to bow or stern direction.

My Spark's a bit unusual because of the outfitting materials, but here are some hints that might be useful. Everything's held together perfectly since 2005.
