Hi all! I have an opportunity to buy a habitat, I'm about 140lb, how is the hull? Flat or round? Has anyone ever converted it to a C1? I'm interested to know if it's a good C1, sharp on eddys, fast, etc,etc! Thanks!

The habitat makes a good C1 (supposedly a better canoe that it is a kayak), a sickeningly good aquantaince of mine swears by his.

I think a significant part of that is that the hull isn't flat or round, it's a hybrid. With the front being a rounded displacement shape, and it's chines getting more pronounced as they go back until the back half is closer to a flat hull with soft rails.

I don't know anyone who has set one up. I'm going to be trying one pretty soon out of curiosity.

.. they look like they might be a little bit narrow and flippy.
