I just baught an H2 pyranha kayak and I want to outfit it to a C1.

What I really want to know is where the center of mass should be in regards to the lenght of the boat.

Any plans available or suggestions?

put your seat hole in between the 2 bolt holes for seat. should be within an inch at most of where you want final trim set.

You have to try it on the water to check if the boat is balanced, otherwise you might find you're paddling down a rapid on your tail, in which case you may soon be swimming down said rapid. (Better to have you weight too far forward than too far back, a tail-happy playboat will be super-tippy and harder to roll.)

A nose happy playboat will be a sod to boof, get you beaten every time you want to punch a feature and it'll perl whilst surfing. For playboating dead neutral is the only way to go, though running rivers in a playboat is best done with your weight *slightly* back.

Pretty hard to have a playboat with your weight too far forward and still be able to get a deck on, if it's a conversion. It's a lot easier to be too far back by mistake, but really the only way to get it right is trial and error (hopefully not too much error!)

ok, so I need to test a few positions, should not be too much of a problem. I've got lots of time and I live by a river.

dude, really? put the bowling pin down.

there is a magical substance. weldwood. red can. i hear gel formula is even better.

sand the foam for better adherence, scuff up the plastic.

...the H2 is not a playboat, it's a creek boat or did I miss something here. I have outfitted mine with a perception saddle and it was great. I love the chines on most all pryanaha boats, carves great.
Weldwood gel is the stuff....ruff up the plastic, apply a thin coat to the boat & to the foam....let it dry, repeat...then put the two peices together once the contact cement is 90% dry...go boating...
just my $.02

take a broom stick or dowel and place it under the hull of the boat in the middle. when you find the right seat position, you should be able to balance the boat on the dowel. duct tape it in that position...take it to water and see how you're trimmed. if you're happy with it glue it in. I use 3m spray adhesive and a bead of gorilla glue. be easy on the gorilla glue as it expands.

as far as straps, i get mine from lowes. I get a big rachet tie down with two inch webbing and cut the rachet off. usually you can get a 16 foot long piece of webbing for around $10 which is cheaper than buying it from an outfitter

just do what oops tells you to do and you'll be good.

glueing foam down is easy. the straps are the real challenge.
