Last call for calendar photos!!!

Post by adkSara »

Hey all, my photo inbox has quite a few photos and some are AMAZING, but you never know if you might have one that will be perfect... so if you've been procrastinating and haven't searched your photos to send one in, please do... deadline is Nov. 1.

Thanks!

We'd prefer the past year, but if it hasn't been sent in for past years, send it on in!

Might be fun to have some "historic" images in the calendar one of these days anyway:)

This is it... last moments to send in images. Then I get the fun of taking a look at them all! :D

This year I'll post quick snaps of pages as a 'teaser' when I'm finished designing the pages!

No, not too late. There has been a 'sticky' at the top of the forum for two months that outlines the information and directions for the 2011 calendar. If you have photographs that you'd like to submit for consideration, please read the post and follow the steps that are outlined. The deadline is today, November 1 at midnight.

Thanks,
Sara

Wow.

Really.

Wow.

It was REALLY REALLY difficult narrowing down the images this year. I wish there were more months in a year! There are some images we would have really liked to get in, but couldn't find room.

A few comments:
1) what is this, an Esquif calendar?
2) Despite opinion of some folks, this is C Boats.net ... not solely OCBoats.net - Let's try and get some more C1 (and C2! images in next year folks!) (I know, there are more open boaters than CBoaters...).
3) Apparently everyone feels most photogenic when running a waterfall ;)

We hope to have it wrapped up by the end of the week, as promised. We'll keep you posted.
Keep the C!

As Adam said in the post above... WOW! The images that I had to go through this year were truly fantastic.

It's fun in that I look at the photos as purely design; focus, composition, lighting, excitement and then Adam sits over my shoulder and filters through the boats - OC, C1, squirt, lines, moves and everything else! We made a good team this year.

I'll be working on the pages each night and hope to have the calendar available on Black Friday for preview & purchase.

The calendar has been done for a few days - but we may have to change an image we were hoping to use as we are not sure the person in the picture OK'd the use of their photo. (When taken in public pretty much any image is fair game... for personal use. When you start essentially selling them it gets more complicated... and we fall somewhere in between in a gray area (giving your image to someone that is used as a fund raiser?). When it's friends and fellow boaters you take images of, it really isn't a problem. When you start taking pictures at competitions of folks you don't know, it is different.

As the person in the image is well-known, I e-mailed them directly for permission, but have not heard back. If I do not hear by back by later today we will be using a different image and posting the calendar up. It's a GREAT picture, so we're really hoping to use it, but right now it's not looking good.

We apologize for the delay... but either way it is well worth the wait:)
Keep the C!
