Question about the Little in the Smokies

Can anyone tell me what's the lowest level on the Townsend gauge that the Sinks to Elbow section can be run and still have Class IIIish fun?

I think the lowest that I ran the sinks was 2.2ish. We ran down just past the Elbow. Thats also the the only time I've ran the Elbow.
But I've been told you can run it lower if you putin below the sinks.

Chris, I'm thinking I've been on it down to 1.9 and it was still fun, but I'm not really sure that was the level, so I'm trying to confirm.

As you know the gauge at Townsend is well downstream. You should also check rainfall gauges in upstream areas; New Found Gap and Mt. LeConte for example..

depends on if it is going up or down b/c gauge has quite some time delay. 2.4 is pretty hard on your boat. 2.6 is starting to pad out.

2.6 is a reasonable minimum. Lower only if you enjoy hitting rocks.
