Gumpy and I were talking about Royalex colors. In addition to the issues of durability, letting the boat cure for a peroid of time after being made, and UV resistance, he asserted that red is the color of choice for speed. My response was that at my age I am not going racing. So the real question is, what color boat is the most FUN!
It's been a long time since physics class, but if I remember red is a slower wave length so red would slow you down. A purple or violet boat would have a faster color. Didn't work the Vikings though
This makes me think of something I read...John Winter's once did a study on boat colors and how if the canoe was red, the paddler always thought/felt it was faster...even if the data didn't support that Nonetheless red is a good color

Sweet I have 2 purple boats! But the colour of choice is red for me too. Even though I've yet to own one....
