The key to doing tounge-in-cheek is to make so over the top that it's obvious to at least 90% that you're not serious. Then we laugh at the 10% who get upset. When it's the other way around, you just look like a... word I can't say here.
to get back on topic, I think I'd like to canoe this drop sometime (though the drops above it would scare me).

Correct. That place scares me in a good way. It's all pretty manageable, but pretty high stress in places.

50'ish. could be 45', could be 55' It's got a very rolling lip, so it's hard to say for sure, and it depends how you measure.
