Maybe Adam can make this a *sticky*thread... as it's the most asked ? on this site and elsewhere by far.

In the U.S.A. the best adhesive (I believe) we've found hands down bar nothing for gluing foam into PE boats (or most boats in general) is DAP products Weldwood Contact Cement (original formula... not the gel type) available at pretty much any hardware store.

As for Canada...
the great gonzo wrote:We don't get Weldwood here in Canada, so my product of choice LePage Prestite Contact Cement.

I compared the MSDS of all 3 options, green, blue and gel:

http://d362101.pro64.promodem.com//uplo ... a5d85b.pdf

I'll spare you the time to go through them all, but my conclusion is:

Go Blue!! it has the highest concentration of 2-Butanone (whatever that is :o  ).
Gel is still OK, but lower on the 2-Butanone.
The green one is useless, as non-toxic...  ...

TGG!
To my knowl'edge Esquif uses the stuff in the blue can.

For Royalite/Royalex and gluing down patches the best thing I know of is Sta-Bond... but I'm not an ABS guy so maybe others can weigh in on this that have found better alternatives.

I drill and use stainless pop rivets, that reach into the foam layer.

In Canada the lePage Blue stuff is the best for all foam aplication....As for anchor application, in RX and glass boat , I like Vinyl tech 2000, it worked the best for me!
