Anyone tried to tandem a Ledge...

Just curious if any intrepid souls had ventured forth tandem in a Ledge?
Not to be really accurate (but quickly multiplying inches) the length*width*depth of one compared to (for instance) a Blast you arrive at...
- 110 * 29.75 * 16 = 52,360156 * 28.5 * 16 = 71,136
...which might be plausible, for two rather light people. (Just
curious)

I would calculate the draft ratio. Assuming the l'edge has half the wetted length of the blast indicates that the draft of the l'edge will be twice that of the blast. This would make it a real pig, I would guess. Not to mention how close you would have to sit together to keep from being on opposite ends of a teeter-totter.

I bet a L'edge paddles well tandem w/ being butthole to bellybutton. Make sure both paddlers are 170 and below...

I wanna see Will tandem the Green in a L'edge. Now that would be somethin.
Not only is it the boat that can do it all w/ ease...but it can be tandemed w/ ease too!

Sounds great to me, But I think I am going to add 3 ft to the center. Just cut my new one in half and waiting to find a broken one to get the center section out of to add. going to to be a sweet tandem for sure. Wondering if I should add a 3"wide or so layer on the inside of the joint after I get it all welded up. I will add a center rail of some sort to stiffen it all up.
My son is going to love this boat and will be a rush to paddle with light paddlers. If anyone has a line of a broken one please let me know. I want to get these 2 halves I have hear back into a paddleable boat.

Smurf maybe you can help me with some Welding advice since you made a L'edge shorter, why not make one longer. I thought my welds would be strongest if I used brand new plastic- much cleaner with less impurities in the weld. How wide of wire mesh should I embed into the weld?

It would be easier if it was factory cut, the gunwale alignment is a pain and precut could really help. I'd say it would be good to mesh the whole borrow area encompassing the new section. Gflex with glass would really help too.

gflex and welding? dont think the gflex is a good idea. Think best to stick to one method. The end result will be just shy of the blast and wil lbe the ultimate tandem play boat

I reenforced my cut down ledge with a layer of gflex and glass on the inside. Works great! Your end product will depend on the rocker that you build into it when you are splicing the ends. I opted for a little less rocker for stability in the SL'Edge but last night I widened the gunwales a huge amount and now the rocker is off the hook! Should be a hoot to paddle.

I widened the gunwales a huge amount and now the rocker is off the hook!
i bet it REALLY looks like a beach ball now
