Check out the photo's of the Richmond RiverRock at www.coastals.org/forum (Trip reports) to see our own Mike W. going off the Redbull Ramp in his C-1- His TOG sticker is visible in one of the shots- way to go Mike- I was paddling this morning hoping to see the finals, but it was shut down.

Kneal is also representing TOG in the Boater Cross and has a few good photo's, along with Jon Lugbil setting the course- (his organization- Sportsbackers) put the whole deal on- the weather caused some problems but it was a great event and a great way to showcase the River.

Thanks for the "shout-outs", Brendan. Yes, Mike and I were fully representing TOG at the Dominion Riverrock, but Mike definitely was THE Team Old Guy representative Saturday (and probably today) after he woke up the day after launching off the ramp. Just ask him why he was to be referred to as "The Patriot".

KNeal rocked it in the boatercross! He got all the way to semi-finals!

As I was strapping into my boat at the top of the ramp, the Red Bull anouncer asked if C-1 had any advantage over the kayaks. When he stuck the microphone in my face I anounced to all of downtown Richmond that "I don't know, I've never tried a sissy paddle". He quickly removed the mic.

The ramp was way cool, but make sure your hip pads are securely attached to the boat. If not, you'll have a patriotic hip for a day, then it'll go deep purple

I strapped my camera to my life-jacket. The race bib covered it though. My 1st run in the video is a good landing. My 2nd run you only see the inside of the bib, but the audio gives a decent feel for what a hard landing is like. Listen around 1:17 or so. On the end of the video there are some still shots that my wife took. Bobby, the kayaker had the only run that I got on video so I included it.
