I have a bulkhead and northwater straps in my Remix with two airplane buckle quick releases as well. The straps connect to the kayak seat holes near the cockpit and just to the old kayak seat railpost, but its reinforced with a lot of foam and gflex. I think the bulkhead helps hold everything in place, but the straps really hold me in. I've always been a proponent of a safe strap system in a C1, a good fence rail conversion could do the job fine.

Do we have another convert(er) in the making
Hey CO paddler, How did you ever get the back end of that pedestal connected to the rear pillar? That's one of the reasons for my immersion into saddle fabrication..the dagger seats are great, but so short for the long cockpits in todays boats. I always had to come up with some funky solutions for that.

larry,
i glued some foam to the rear pillar to extend it into the pocket of the pedestal. i then put two bolts through the whole thing, it's solid.
