Looks like a Gemini with a center hole cut to me... not sure which one though (there were several (5?) variations over the years I'm aware of).

I don't know about it being a Gemini. The deck looks like it has a centerline peak. I built and paddled a Gemini III as my first C-2, also paddled a Gemini V, and saw examples of most of the rest of the series at one time or another; I don't recall any of the decks having a centerline peak.

However, the Paramax (not the Paramax II or Argumax) did have a somewhat peaked deck, particularly if the builder made the center pillars a little too high and pushed up the deck higher than they were designed to be. I wouldn't be willing to say that's what it is based on this one photo, but it looks more like it to my eye than it does a Gemini.

Hello Larry,

That's a 3 holer C2. I've got one. The center hole can be used for paddling solo (which I've done) or for easy gear access when paddled as a C2. The center hole can affect the rigidity of the boat, but all-in-all the boat should be fun to paddle as a C2 (not so much fun as a C1 :-? ).

SYOTR,

Bruce

Agree that the boat does not have "Gemini" lines -- Gemini's had lots of wildwater genes and that doesn't show here (my first C-2 was a Gemini from '78 -- prob a III). What strikes me as odd is the cockpit spacing: definitely a C-2 with center cargo cockpit, but most slalom designs wouldn't really have the cockpits far enough apart for that. Maybe someone did a totally new deck -- or could have been a criuse-oriened design with the cockpits not as close. I think Tom Johnson may have designed something with wider cockpit spacing.

Looks like a gas for a camper -- just make sure you can roll ;-)
