The dates are the same as the Golden, bid.
Racing is July 8-10 and practice July 5-7
For up to date info as it evolves, check Keech's site:

This was a last minute change due to expected high flow conditions in Golden.

The 2011 ACA Open Canoe Slalom Nationals & North American Championships that were to be held on July 6-8, 2011 at the Clear Creek Whitewater Park in Golden, CO, have been canceled due to the anticipation of very high water at the race site on the schedule race weekend! Arrangements to move the 2011 ACA Open Canoe Slalom Nationals and North American Championships to Salida, CO, about 165 miles southwest of Denver, have been completed and the ACA Open Canoe Slalom National Committee has approved the plan. The dates will remain the same, July 8-10, 2011 with practice prior to the event. See the event web site at: http://OCS.Whitewater-Slalom.us/oc-2011n.htm

Upper animas as a day trip - or overnighter?
Not sure I got the skills , but I definitely want to try the upper A at some point in my paddling career - preferably as an overnight.

Would like to do Slaughterhouse around that timeframe if it's at a good OC level. Not really sure what an upper limit would be - I think we ran it around 700 cfs a few years ago.

Other than that, I am planning on coming down for the races (not sure if I'll actually race or just watch). Definitely will want to paddle.

Excellent! :)

FIBArk flow was 3600 CFS. The outlook for Nationals is for under 2500, see:

It'll still be a fast current. Would anyone want to race tandem with me?
