I'm investigating a theory that dawned on me after many pints of Brewbeer's Cream Ale.

What's your favorite non-commercial paddling video? I.E. videos that boaters make themselves and post on youtube or vimeo?

Just wonderin'

Gotta be the Youtube one titled "Big Sandy Ion". Not really a "commercial" vid, but put together by a few of the guys from Blackfly. Pretty dope stuff! Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDxF_Zla_PI

Love that one but have to make a mention to what to me (as a still newer canoer) a clasic.

TonyB. I had forgotten about that video. It is a classic.

One of my all time favorites is Raft transfer on the Gauley.

My favorite YouTube open boatin' video! Yeah, that side-surf is epic. No giving up...

I always liked this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZboQwMoyHA A cool perspective.

Good music, sharp editing, no smarmy titling/captions and great paddling-

Whitewater Canoeing. This one got me so fired up when I first started paddling. Good music too!

Can't find it... but there was a compilation a while back with the likes of Scriver, Nolan, etc that had a bunch of great footage but was interspersed with short interviews of kayakers speaking of their intense dislike of open boaters, one of which said he wanted to kick some open boater butt... Craig? Bob? Paul? Anyone know where this is?

+1 for "Open Boat Fun". Saw that one early on, and it redefined open boating for me. Still watch it now and then to get through the home stretch of a day in the office.

Can't necessarily say it's my favorite, but I like this simple video of Harold Deal. It's not a fancy video with slick editing and music, but I do find my self going back and watching it from time to time.

I think that's one of Clive's Eye videos. He now has his own channel on either youtube or vimeo, I don't remember which of the 2 sites.

Tenzing- What's your theory, anyway?
