ok, i already typed one post out and deleted it, but...what are we impressed by here exactly? how many paddlers were in the water at once or how much downtime alex did after he came off volkswagon?

Both, really.

That many open boaters flying through pillow was awesome, but Alex putting on a show just topped it off. Wish I could have been there to see it.

Swim of the year? Gets my vote.

Ever try to climb up on V-rock, stand there, then get in a boat and launch?

Swims and flips happen .. part of boat'n. The show.. that's different! My $.01!

I wondered if there would be any footage posted of that. A friend who watched it all go down told me about it at the fest that night. Said it was the funniest bit of boating he'd ever seen.

Too bad the guy swam after he seal launched off Volkswagen.

oops..... you're missing the point. It was an amazing Pillow moment. that blue angel swarm of OC's with alex's fantastic boat transfer will live on for years.

while we see it as cool or funny stunt boating....it was just jaw dropping to the spectators. The OC's stole the show.

questions -

was canoe #1 Nolan?
that was Eli in the Spark, no? nice move...
Alex's rescue boat, that wasn't sent on purpose was it?

Swim or no, that was awesomely amusing.

i'm pretty sure the volkswagon movein the video is the canoeing equivalent of a monkey writing hamlet. or maybe king john. if you give a million monkeys a million typewriters, it's going to happen eventually. heck, you i bet at least one rafter a day ends up there.

this and the hand thread (and me not actually boating anymore) have got me thinking...maybe the real difference between kayakers and canoers is that canoers are impressed by someone trying to run a drop or river, regardless of how it goes, where as the lowly butt-boater expects the run to be succesful to impress.

It was Nolan in the first boat, you can tell by the finess.
it was Eli who got the surf, not sure if it was on purpose or reaction but still great
The second boat's owner probably wouldn't swim there just to give Alex a prop for his show. She's run that a lot and doesn't swim much.
