If you aren't ready to race on the Green...

there IS an easier alternative that may be more enjoyable.

For example... http://www.tvccpaddler.com/TVCC_Home_fi ... ration.pdf

I don't know... if this race were in our backyard the local Cboaters would be all over it... so even though I live nowhere near there it's time for my annual plug.

WWFHD?

He'd race down Ocoee dammitt...

Don't race for a place... race for yourself.

I raced last year and it was a lot of fun. I think I had a time of 42 minutes or so.

I'm hoping that there is a bigger turnout this year. If the ocoee is close to you, you should do it. There is always a really good afterparty with an awards ceremony and BEER. :)

It's also for a good cause. All the proceeds go to first decents.

Smerda, can elaborate on what First Decents does.

They don't have classes for open boats. A friend of mine won the first Ocoee open boat race back in the 80s, paddling a Blue Hole OCA. I was standing around on the rocks below Tablesaw, ready with a throw rope, but no one needed it.

So we be openbloaters - who all paddled for naught last year,
... and Bob didn't win the year before that,
... and sadly Sally didn't 'really' finish middle of the pack ?

(didn't you post this last year as well)

Yes - a good time
  • :) for a good cause 8)
    • and a good party as well.
