I use an iPhone app called RiverGuide. Sorry no link because I'm on my iPhone now and can't get URL's in my browser without just being referred to my app store app.

It works well and can store a list of favorites for quick checks. I find it faster than checking on my home pc. My only feature request would be the ability to append notes to gauges for referencing runnable water levels, but I guess you can't have it all.
