Oooooh yeah.
Looks like it is gonna be a sweeeeet ride. I'm also excited to see how the blow moulding holds up. (I'm gonna guess very VERY well!)
Will there be one kicking around at ALF?

I'm really pleased with your canoe Richard. That tumble home design is the same one I've been mocking up with foam on my Option and Ledge over the past two weeks. I liked the improvements I got out of those two designs with it. I think how the Pheind will roll will be a distinguishing feature for your buyer. There's room in the garage for my 5th canoe.

Richard, I think what Bob is asking is:
Is the spelling I-E or E-I..........Ph
iend or Ph
eind?

Todd's got it right. Bob is concerned about the placement of the "e" and the "i", and not the "d".
Richard, looking at the title of the post, it is spelled with the "i" proceeding the "e". But looking at your last post to Bob, the "i" is preceding the "e". There are rules that we follow in the English language regarding spelling, and we all know that it is direly important that we follow these rules, lest anarchy reigns its ugly head and attempts to seize control over our thought processes and reasoning abilities. So, here is a wiki link ('cause we all know this is an honest website to seek for resource information):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_before_E_except_after_C" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Nobody here wants to levy an accusation that someone is attempting to violate any rules, especially rules regarding the English language and spelling. Thank you for taking the time to clear up this confusion. It is important.
Btw, nice boat model.

Anybody else get a ride in the prototype at ALF??
Had a great time on the Middle Telico (was a fraid to break the glass markup on the Ledges).
Took it back to my local creek for some comfort boating (class 2-3 play) It was a bit cracked and leaky after ALF. (glad Im not the one keeping it floating)
Ok if you thought the Maxim was too twitchy, this aint!
It floated my 240 lbs pretty well and was wasnt slackin on stability or manuverability. Speed seamed a bit up on the Ledge, down from the Maxim but with edges more like a short Viper.
I kept refering to as a viper 9 cause thats what it felt like. Loved the feel on a wave and cant wait to see this in plastic.

The Phiend Proto is getting more glass here in NJ soon. I've had it out 2 of the last 3 days. It rolls like a dream way easier than my other canoes. Looks like I'll have to wait at least 10 days to get it out on class 4-5.
Edit:
@Avlclimber quick tape measurements are:
9'2" x 29 widest, 27" at the gunnels

I'm waiting eagerly to see a plastic Phiend here in Belgium - and test it of course!
How does it compare to the L'Edge?
- stability: primary and secondary?
- speed: a bit faster if I get it right?
- acceleration
- turning
Short Viper, sounds good. Maybe a bit more rockered for faster turning?
