Cartwheeling a slalom boat?

Post by TheKrikkitWars »

As per this clip...

Basically, I'm competeing in an "old skool" event next weekend and given that my last attempt at cartwheeling my extrabat resulted in a spectacular back-ender landing on concrete.

I wondered if anyone who was around "way back when" remembers any tips or tricks for cartwheeling the old 4m boats...

Yes! That video is the course (and most likely the hole) that the comp is held at... At least I know it's possible there now.

I haven't cartwheeled a slalom boat... but I have cartwheeled my long squirt boats which in once case is still 12'+. The big difference is speed - it will be slower and should feel more fluid than cartwheeling some short little spud boat. It takes longer for those ends to swap and eclipse the sun you know

That was a fail; I'd hoped to have photographs for you guys but due to the event organisers insistance on not actually timetabling the competions, and the campsite being a good mile from the course I was left stood at the feature wondering if i could get to my car, drive back and get kitted out before the comp finished... Always next year...
