Professor Paddle Ball Leavenworth, Wa June 7-10th

Post by Wiggins »

Come to the Professor Paddle Ball. Impress your friends by running the Wenatchee when there is actually water in it (something few canoes do for some reason). Enjoy long surfs at Turkey Shoot and Rodeo Hole. Win free gear. Watch as kayakers injure themselves on the big air ramp! Good fun for all!

I plan on going over on the 8th and staying through the 10th.

For those that don't know the area the Wenatchee is easy class III big water. The waves are super stable rollercoaster waves, and you need to do little maneuvering to run the rapids. There is excellent play, and tons of space between drops to recover swimmers and gear. Despite the fact that it is big water it is a very canoe friendly run. The stable nature of the waves makes dry lines very easy. This is a good run for those just stepping up to class III.

For more advanced boaters there are creeks ranging from class III+ to V.

The events include a gear raffle, a rodeo competition, big air ramp competition, a creek race, and chili cook off. The camping provided with the event fee is in a apple orchard on the river at a good spot to putin for the play run.

Anyone else want to go?

Kyle
