Grand Canyon trip spots open 7/13 to 8/1

Post by Creeker »

I won a cancelled Grand Canyon Lottery a day ago. I've got 4 cboaters lined up so far in the crew after one day of looking for peeps. Half the trip is full. I'm trying to fill the roster by Friday 6/22. Message me here or call 732-672-1817. I'm on the water today and tomorrow so I'm largely going to be unavailable in daylight hours.

Basics: people need to be feet on the ground in flagstaff Az at 10am by 7/13 which is rig day. Drop all cars at Moenkopie Riverworks and they take us to the river to rig the 4 raft supported trip. 17 days of Awesomeness. I am taking my 10 year and I'm hopeful someone else has a daughter son about that age to make the trip as well.

Moenkopie picks us up on 7/30 and we leave Flagstaff on 8/1 for home.

with 16 peeps its going to be about $1000 and I think that might include some beer. The NPS permit is an additional $100/each. That will include a huge crab/shrimp boil on rig night and a condo to meet and organize the group as everyone comes in on 7/12. pretty sic.

I've done this Grand Canyon a couple times and Trip led my own permit in 2009.

Do you have your oarsmen lined up? I oared the Grand last year for the first time and have a permit for 2013. I also have my own 14" SB but with that comes a greater chance of flipping. I am not sure I could get the time off work but let me know if your interested.

i could possibly swing the trip. i need to be in S.W. colorado around by 8/4 anyway. I can paddle a c-boat and have lots of experience rowing cargo rafts (i guided commercially in Idaho for a few years.). i probably wouldnt bring a hard boat as i would be coming from VA. let me know if you are interested.
