I know the Open Nationals are at NOC in Oct. are there any club events in the southeast? I have searched hi and low and the north east seems to be the only ones with an active organization. Any information on this would be much appreciated.

Events on the Locust Fork and Mulberry Fork in Alabama will be announced soon.
There is an easy slalom event on the Nantahala, not through the Falls, but starting opposite the store. It is sponsored by Georgia Canoeing Association. Probably you could get information from NOC by early summer.

Dixie Cup in AL is a 3 race series. Go to the Bimingham Cane Club web site and there should be a link.

I believe the Nationals were at NOC last year. In 2013 they'll be in Wausau, WI, unless of course you're talking about a different type of Nationals, or I have my facts wrong.

There is the NOC Canoe Club Challenge which includes both downriver and slalom events. It is a fairly low-key event designed to be friendly to novice or informal racers and may be what ezwater was talking about.

There will be races in June, July and August but dates are not yet set.
