Boat of the Week - Millbrook (and others) ME

Some of my favorite OC2 slalom runs have been in an old kevlar ME. I found it surprisingly fast, extremely maneuverable (for a boat this long... or even a shorter boat really), and very stable with two paddler in it that had no problem hanging out over the side as necessary to execute a move.
I'll likely have a composite version one of these days.

That is a definite classic. I spent more time in the Royalex version but even then it was an extremely responsive boat. No question the Composite version by Millbrook was lighter and a bit more responsive.
I paddled it solo and tandem - It was a very long time after shorter boats showed up before something came close to the MEs Performance.

That was my first whitewater boat and again years later the boat I introduced my kids to whitewater in (still am!). Love that boat... I've replaced gunwales on MEs more than any other boat combined (4), too.

I rock a MRC ME. Love it because I'm too cheap to buy something else, it's a classic that literally won't die.

I suckered my younger brother into paying for half of a used ME back in the late 80's.
That ME successfully guided me for my first time down the Ocoee (upper), the Cossatot (AR), and many others.
My brother reclaimed it for a few ten years in between then an now.
Sadly, I have lost that ME…
to my wife.
It is now her solo boat.
