Tougher and more stable than you expect, carves and turns better than it should-- feels more stable, more easy to turn and much faster to accelerate than my (25 inch thwarts) outrage. At 6' 1" and 180 (190 lbs over the winter holidays) and an intermediate paddler, I could not be happier. The only problem is not a problem; my skill! Just did my first 3+ and with only one short swim was lovin' it.

Great I notice the same thing with mine, coming from a Spark... Way more stable and dry, ferry like a dream... But not quite as snappy as the spark, but that could be just me!! A great boat over all!!

I cannot WAIT to try a Shacho. I find the comment about it being less "snappy" than a Spark intriguing... After paddling an Inferno, I find the Spark to be almost as fast and maneuverable, but without the tendancy to punish me if I do something wrong. I had assumed the Shacho would be as snappy, or maybe a little more so, than the Spark. Then again, given my experience with the L'Edge, I know paddler weight and style can significantly alter perceptions of how a boat behaves.

At 160lbs, I find the Shacho snappier than the Spark.

But at 230 is not as snappier... I don't know if "snappier" is the right term... But a great boat none the less!!
I need to pass more time in it and these days I'm to busy working construction during the week and teaching canoeing on the week end.... But next weekend will be different!!

Really.. to me, it could mean everything from "will remind you of mistakes quickly" to "snaps into eddies on a dime"..

It's also not just the perception changing with paddler weight.. it's what actually happens that changes. Weight will influence water line, wetted surface, edge depth when carving.. ergo (simplified.. of course ) two paddlers with different weights = two different boats (unless the design is very.. broad spectrum if you know what I'm saying, it could still be similar for a good weight range.. KAZ is that something ppl design boats to deliver? Same behaviour over a broad paddler weight range? )
