Those are popliteal/"baker's" cysts. They're gonna be a problem paddling a canoe as they make it extremely impossible to kneel. See your doctor, or see me, about it. Either one of us can use a big bore hollow needle to evacuate the cyst. Best bet for a good outcome would be with your doctor.

Yeah, Googling will bring lotsa info. I wish I still had access to large lumen hypos. I have several ganglions on my left foot that need reduction.

Harry could get a paddleboard......

Ganglions? You know, the Bible has been one of the best treatments for ganglions. Srsly.

EZ, I'd be happy to take a whack at those ganglions on your foot.

Get it?

I actually tried the Bible cure, only I used a Norton Anthology of English Literature. It actually worked. I'd be careful though depending on the body part the ganglion is on. Smacking the back of a knee? I don't know ...

Ugh. Does TOG secretly stand for "tumescent, off-putting growths"?

Please note that this is NOT medical advice!

I have personally gone to the local AG supplier and purchased needles and syringes for evacuating various bulges on myself. I always clean the area with rubbing alcohol and then swab some iodine on it. Make sure they are sterile (they will be, farmers don't want to introduce infection into their cows, hogs, ect.) Less than $10 you can have some big syringes and 16 gauge needles (14ga would be my preference for evacuating something large but 16ga seems to be the biggest I can get easily).

Again, NOT MEDICAL ADVICE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE DO THIS THEMSELVES!

Slamming a ganglion with a book is OK, if it works. If not, the ganglion's still there, and there's collateral damage.

I have a referral to a surgeon. They may not only remove the fluid, but the sack in which the fluid built up. Sometimes steroids are injected at the site to make recurrence less likely.

I haven't done anything about the surgery because I don't want to deal with a healing wound during summer recreation time.
