Saltwood Paddles Vitamin C?
Anyone have ANY experience with this paddle? Anyone know where to get one?

Sheesh. When I read the subject line, I thought some spammer had gotten into the site.
Here's what I googled:
Saltwood Paddles, Vitamin C page

Ok, looks like I'm gonna have to be the guinea pig on this one.

I have 1 of each of the Saltwood Paddles
Well built and very light. I will sell you 1 of them $150.
There was a few things I dont like about them but of personal nature of what I like in a paddle. Nothing wrong with the Paddle or how its mades. I have not put many miles on them to really test them. I really like my Esquif Paddle.

Re: Saltwood Paddles Vitamin C?
Maybe you guys make the exchange on a river here the first weekend of November?

It'd have to be the second weekend in November, I'm not back in the motherland until November 3rd.
I will be looking to paddle some mainland rivers before the new year though!

Re: Saltwood Paddles Vitamin C?
The materials design and build quality looks intriguing, especially the hollow shaft.. but as with many paddles I don't like (and get the intention behind) the neck and blade design, which essentially introduces unnecessary water turbulence when slicing, making for a worse catch of the blade in anything other than totally aerated turbulent water.
I always wonder if the guys designing these blades just copy each other, and if they actually know anything about (canoe) paddle stroke hydrodynamics?
Just look at the paddles that some slalom world champions make (or were made with). They should be able to improve upon that with a better technology inside, but I doubt anything other than smooth lines will make a paddle better (than e.g. a Mitchell Premier, the Galasport paddles, Kober Athen) on the outside.
Prove me wrong.. or get back to the drawing board, paddle dabblers!
Cheers,
Jan
