Rescue training, Wilderness First Aid and Paddling in CR!

Post by esprit »

We are just putting some feelers out to see if anyone would be interested in a week in Costa Rica that included a 2 day R3-Rec River Rescue Course (with Jim Coffey) a 2 day Wilderness First Aid Course (WIth Eli Helbert) and 2 days of Paddling with Jim and Eli.

The week would be Jan. 18 to 25th.

We are trying to fill up that week and were looking at offering something different.

Any thoughts?

You forgot to mention that the rivers there aren't full of that stuff people call 'deadly ice'.

That is an awesome idea. Really valuable training and apparently amazing paddling. If I wasn't a broke-a$$ student and didn't take those courses already I would definitely want to go. I took R3 rec earlier this year with Jim and learned a TON. It was head and shoulders above the rescue course that I had taken before. So good that I signed up for R3 pro as soon as I got home. Highly recommended.

I'm planning on going to CR this January and I would sign up for the rescue course. I may be going a week before then, actually I'm going solo and would like some advice on when to go.

E-mail or call Jim at Esprit and let him know what you're looking for… he can help you figure out what week is best based on the guest paddler that week.

You'll have a great time! Great paddling, great food, great people, great scenery. Oh, and if you are from the "north" it is nice to paddle water that is not only not frozen, but actually warm:)
