Season's greetings and news from Blackfly Canoes.

Post by RodeoClown »

'Twas the week before Christmas in the shop of Blackfly,
I'm still hard at work; dust continues to fly.
Only one Option left, it's color light blue,
if you want one soon, it'll just have to do.
For no more will be made for some while,
but the wait will be worth it, I say with a smile.
The plug is nestled quite snug in a crate.
The changes I've made, I tell you they're great!
Weeks worth of work spent getting it right,
all that's left now to do is to close it up tight,
with plenty of scrap foam packed 'round it inside.
On a truck to Minnesota, it's taking a ride,
An aluminum mold soon will be cast!
Rebuilding fiberglass molds is a thing of the past.
The Octane eight-five is next on the stand,
from an aluminum mold this boat will look grand!
There's one of those left, Orange with white streaks,
If you don't like that color, you'll be waiting for weeks.
"Will it be ready for ALF?" The customers ask,
But answering this query is no simple task.
It's out my hands. It's a process you see,
When the boats will be ready is not up to me.
But now for some news you're unlikely to like,
For prettier boats, you'll see a price hike.
Fifteen and three quarters ($1575) is expensive you say,
but a modest price increase, so in business I'll stay.
Now some boats will still come from molds made of 'glass,
But with more time spent on them, they'll all be first class.
No price increase for those, at least for the time.
And now I have come to the end of my rhyme,
And hope you've enjoyed this short festive spoof.
Merry Christmas to all and too all a good boof!

That's either a lot of raw talent, or a lot of resin fumes inhaled:)

AWESOME news, and great way to roll it out:)

It's a combination of spending too many hours (stopped keeping track around 100) mindlessly sanding in the shop by myself, and reading a lot of Dr. Seuss books to my son.

will we see you new years in franklin for the icicle run?, as the town folk watch us paddle the rapids having so much fun, then off to the church for a marvelous feast, with merrimack valley paddlers the best club in the east.
