So my Xmas present to myself (Esquif Raven) has been hanging in the garage in its virgin state since Dec., and now it's time to get this thing put together. I'm going to admit right off the bat I've never outfitted an OC-1 before, and my other more mild tempered Bell YS Solo came with thigh straps, knee pads, and bag cages so all I needed to do was ditch the seat and make a kneeling thwart. I have all the parts to build this new blue pig of mine (knee pads, saddle, thigh straps, cage kits, bags, etc. Need to get some gflex for the d-rings an adhesive for the saddle. I know there are great resources online (and I'm fairly handy), but I'm asking for assistance to get some first hand outfitting knowledge, from a person and not a screen, and to hopefully meet some fellow paddlers and build some comradery. I'm new to this and my paddling friends are primarily rec paddlers so meeting some new folks would be great. Let me know if anyone is willing to lend a hand or at least kick it in the garage for an afternoon and shoot the large steaming pile of dog doo! I'm located in Augusta/Hallowell area.

Thanks,

Dan

Hey Dan,

I live just down the river from ya, but I go to school in a different part of the state. I'm home til the end of march. Just gimme a shout via PM or email if you need a hand! I haven't done any hardcore solo boat outfitting but I know my way around tools and adhesives. At the very least, I'd love to just hang out and meet a local boater!

Cheers,
Sam (from the drinking town with the antiques problem)

I'm guessing Hallowell. Your not right over the tracks at the house with a Green Suby and a Mini are you? Saw a OC-1 there last summer. Now if I could only get the important memories to stick in my head!

Too bad you're in the wrong Augusta ;). I could have helped if you were in Augusta Ga. Unless you have a heated work space it may still be a bit early for that job.
