A decade or more ago, I remember reading and seeing a picture of a black and red inflatable canoe with lots of rocker being manufactured in Europe. Does anyone remember?

I am curious why Aire or another maker has not produced a WW canoe.

I like the Outside, but at $3K, its outside my range.

I paddled an OUTSIDE once. Very slow as you can imagine, but super stable.

Tried rolling one in the pool last weekend, still working on it.

I'd think it would be pretty hard to turn over.

If it flips, just climb onto the underside, and it's a SOB, a sit-on-bottom.

My concern about inflatable canoes is, with the width so great, technique is going to get distorted.

"Soar" makes a popular model.

IC's are gaining popularity for tripping in Canadian north as several can be stored inside a Twin Otter, cutting flight costs. Pretty forgiving, carry lots of gear, but performance sucks.

Rig one with a transom, stick a 2 horse outboard on it, and then tow several more, ducks in a row, across slow deltas or big lakes.

and actually it flipped over pretty easy, intentionally.

There are a nmber of European inflatable canoes available.
Grabner makes, next to the Outside the Adventure, which is a traditional looking inflatable canoe. They have also taken over a few former Metzeler boats, the Indio (traditional looking) as well as the XR Trekking, which may have been the inspiration for the SOAR designs.
Other Euro manufacturers are Spreu in Germany and Gumotex in the Czech Republic make a variety of inflatable canoes. I am sure there are more, but those are the ones with a good reputation.
