L'edge Lite saddle cutting

Post by cbates »

Got a L'edge Lite and need to trim some foam out of the saddle. I've always cut from the thighs before, but it feels like it would ride better and be more comfortable cutting from the back of the saddle in this boat. I'm 6"2' 190lbs. Any advice on this and bag size? Thanks

I'm a bit larger than you. I took about 3/4" maybe a hair less off the back of the saddle and a huge amount out of the thigh hooks. I prefer my boats neutral and even with only a small amount off the back it feels a bit weighted to the stern. I wouldn't take more than this off.

48" ish bags

Do what feels best for you. If you're fitting into the thigh hooks well but can't sit all the way down, trim the back rest. Just remember to cut a little, check the fit, and repeat.
