I have a 3-piece Werner Bandit breakdown canoe paddle. It is a nice paddle - slightly heavier than the one piece due to the sleeves that join it together - but paddles just like a 1-piece paddle when assembled.

No one stocks it as far as I can tell, so you have to get someone to order it from Werner and they'll make one when you order.

When ordering a breakdown paddle, specify the length as well as where you want the joint(s).

The length does not change because of the joint(s).

I have a three piece and a one piece AB paddle. I gave up the one piece as my primary stick pretty quickly. It has a little too much flex for my taste. As a backup paddle, I ordered the three piece with a break right at the blade and the other two pieces as equal as possible. Just make sure the breaks don't end up where your hands do. I have the three pieces flex tied to a piece of cheap blue foam. I stow that in a custom bag made out of old tent material to keep river crud off . I haven't had to use it in battle yet, but am sure it can get me off the river it I need it
