pedestal glueing question

Post by johnd »

This is a boring question, but just wondering if anyone has removed a minicell foam pedestal then re-glued the pedestal to royalex with Stabond glue without cleaning off the foam that has stuck to the bottom from the original glue job? Did that work OK? It seems like the hull should be cleaned of all of the foam but I am having trouble getting it off, so I am about to be lazy and just glue the pedestal back on to the minicell encrusted hull. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know about gluing over the old foam but apply a little adhesive remover and use a soft bath towel to rub vigorously over the foam and the foam should come off.

I've done it a few times without any issue. Scape off any loose foam. Otherwise you're gluing glue to glue witch holds just fine.
